The module has a range of 10 m and is easily set via AT commands and can be programmed both as master and slave.
The module allows you to transform an UART USART port most commonly known as a serial in a Bluetooth port, generally with a Serial Port Profile (SPP) profile, thus becoming a serial over Bluetooth.
The device is used to communicate a microprocessor (MCU), for example, a standard processor mounted on Arduino cards with the outside world, where the outside world can be a Smartphone, a Personal Computer, or other device with a connection Bluetooth.
The module can be found either as a simple component or already mounted on a breakout card.
