Greenmill GB6995C Rain Detector Sensor for 24V Irrigation Controllers Adjustable Sensitivity Level

The rain detector is designed to work with irrigation controllers with a voltage of max. 24V AC to eliminate unnecessary irrigation during rainy weather. The detector is equipped with five working positions of the head. It can work with most low-voltage 24V controllers, e.g. GB6964C, GB6968C, GB6991C, GBK3504TR, GBK3506TR with normally-closed (NC) connections. The cooperation with the 9V GB6980C controller in the version with a mini-jack socket (only versions produced from 2017) is possible after the user has soldered a mono mini-jack plug (the plug is not included in the set). The detector does not work with controllers with a 'normally open' detector input. The detector works on the principle of a mechanical switch, which is switched on by specially prepared distance discs that grow under the influence of moisture. During rainfall and a few hours after its end, the controller contacts change position and remain open. Changing the position of the contacts controls the operation of the irrigation controller or directly the operation of the valves, cutting off the power supply to them.

The detector will not operate with controls with the detector input “normally open”. The detector works on the principle of a mechanical switch, which is activated by specially prepared spacers, which grow under the influence of moisture.
During rain and for a few hours afterwards, the controller contacts change position and remain open. Changing the position of the contacts controls the operation of the irrigation controller or directly the operation of the valves and interrupts their power supply.
