Acar R8 POWER ist ein 16-Ampere-Schutzgerät aus der Acar-Familie mit verbessertem Überspannungsschutz. Das Gerät verfügt über acht geerdete Netzsteckdosen, die in den meisten Fällen für die Versorgung aller Verbraucher ausreichen. Es verwendet einen verstärkten Netzschalter, der gegen hohe Stromstöße resistent ist, die z. B. beim Einschalten von Computernetzteilen (Desktop und Laptop) auftreten.

Der Netzschalter ist mit einer aufklappbaren Schutzabdeckung versehen, die ein versehentliches Einschalten verhindert. Die im Gerät eingebaute verstärkte Überspannungsschutzschaltung schützt alle Versorgungsleitungen und leitet die Überspannungsenergie über den Schutzleiter PE zur Erde ab. Das Gerät verfügt über eine Funktionsanzeige des Überspannungsschutzsystems. Montagebügel gehören zur Standardausrüstung.
