The second mode offers a more diffuse light with a wider, but slightly shorter, range than the first mode. When charging using the solar panel, full charging can be achieved after about 60 hours of exposure of the radio to full sunlight. However, be sure not to let the battery run down completely beforehand.
When using crank charging, you can simultaneously use the light with a flashlight. After making about 360 revolutions, the generated power can last for about 30 minutes of using the radio at medium volume or lighting the way with a flashlight.
Depending on the volume level, a fully charged battery is sufficient for about 10 - 15 hours of radio use.
